Water is one of the most important contributors to a bird’s growth and health. It softens the feed birds eat so digestion can occur. But water that spills into pits and litter is counterproductive to bird performance. We maintain that if birds are provided a dry litter and ammonia free environment and given good quality feed and hygienic water they will then as a consequence eat more feed and then drink more water.
