The University of Texas at El Paso’s College of Engineering, a national leader in engineering education and innovation, is proudly returning to its roots by restoring its mining engineering program. Originally funded to serve the mining industry, UTEP will renew this vision by offering a 21st-century mining engineering curriculum, including immersive experiential learning and industry-aligned training that reflects emerging trends in automation, sustainability, and critical mineral production. UTEP will produce skilled graduates prepared to support modern, sustainable resource development.
