P&P Optica (PPO) is a leading innovator in smart imaging solutions for the meat, poultry, and animal-food industries. Since 2015, PPO’s systems have been installed across beef, pork, poultry, and pet food processing facilities, where they deliver exceptional detection performance and integrated analytics. PPO’s technology combines hyperspectral imaging—which captures detailed spectral signatures of materials—with vision-based inspection and AI-driven analysis. This enables processors to accurately identify contaminants such as bone, plastic, metal, and cartilage at high throughput speeds. At IPPE 2026, PPO will showcase its Smart Imaging Systems, including configurations such as the Waterfall system for ground or diced products and the new modular inspection system. The modular version offers the same advanced imaging and analysis capabilities as the Smart Imaging System, but without integrated materials-handling hardware—making it adaptable for various points along the processing line.
