Reef Builders International, Corp., and Ocean Legacies present Poseidon Memorial Reef Located two miles offshore of Destin, on Florida’s Emerald Coast.
The Poseidon Memorial Reef Project is an artificial reef offering unique memorial opportunities for the cremated remains of our departed loved ones that are “Green Thinking” alternatives to traditional burial practices.
Currently under construction, but ready to accept clients, the reef will ultimately consist of over 150 ‘Memorial Pavilions’ arranged in concentric circles around a central arena featuring many large marble statues and several bronze sculptures by Simon Morris, depicting ‘The Icons of the Reef’. These individuals have earned this honor in recognition of their leadership roles in the field of oceanic science, exploration, education, entertainment, research, discovery, and industry. The centerpiece will be an 11′ tall bronze of Poseidon named ‘Legacy’, also by Simon Morris.
