Outram’s latest innovation the Real Time Fault Level Monitor (RTFLM) offers the Prospective Fault Level (Short Circuit Current) on an electricity network in real time, based on rapid, recurring measurement of the dynamic source impedance and the operating voltage. The RTFLM can be deployed to measure the Fault Level at target voltages up to 33kV wherever Voltage Transformers (VTs) are available, notwithstanding other connection requirements. This data can facilitate integration of renewable generation supporting the transition to net zero, give real time visibility of fault level conditions, enhancing safety and asset protection as well as continuously monitor network conditions improving operational efficiency.
