Company Description
CAN in Automation (CiA) is the international users’ and manufacturers’ group for CAN (Controller Area Network), established in March 1992. The aim of the non-profit group is to provide an unbiased platform for further developments of CAN, to promote the image of CAN, and to assist users of all three CAN generations (CAN CC/FD/XL). The CiA members develop jointly specifications for various CAN application fields and support actively the international standardization of CAN-based solutions. CiA offers seminars and conferences for sharing knowledge and experience. Additionally, CiA informs on the latest CAN trends by means of the CAN Newsletter, the CAN Community News (CCN), and its website. As of December 2025, CiA has more than 766 members.
